Danny Amendola is throwing a flag on this rumor.
After the New England Patriots alum was supported by pal Xandra Pohl during a taping of Dancing with the Stars last week, he shut down any brewing romance between the pair.
“Xandra is a great friend of mine,” Danny told E! News’ Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview Sept. 24. “I’m a huge fan and supporter of her and it’s good to have a friend like her.”
Of course, Danny emphasized that Xandra is still a very close friend, adding that his “mom loves her.” (For more from Danny and the DWTS cast, tune into E! News tonight, Sept. 25, at 11 p.m.)
Good thing, considering Xandra was spotted sitting side-by-side with Danny’s mom Rose during the Sept. 17 episode. Xandra, 23, wore a V-neck T-shirt with her hair down, and was seen smiling big and applauding throughout the night’s performances.
And while the 38-year-old shut down any romantic speculation between the duo, rumors have been circulating long before Danny laced up his dancing shoes. In fact, the pair were photographed attending Tom Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame June induction ceremony at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.
For her part, Xandra—who split from Jack Touzet in 2023 after three years of dating and more recently fueled dating rumors with Kansas City Chiefs player Louis Rees-Zamm—has not addressed her relationship with the Dancing with the Stars contestant. She did, however, previously share that when it comes to relationships, she’s just “having fun.”
“I’m in my single era,” she told E! News in May. “I am saying yes to dates and meeting a ton of new people.”
Danny has also been living the single lifestyle for a while. After dating Olivia Culpo—who just tied the knot with husband Christian McCaffrey in June—for three years, the pair split in 2018, and he has not been linked to anyone seriously since.
