Olivia Plath is grieving the loss of her brother Micah Meggs.
The Welcome to Plathville star—who is married to the eldest son on the TLC series Ethan Plath—recently announced her sibling's passing and informed her followers she would be stepping away from her channels during this difficult time.
"Hey guys, I'm jumping off of social media for a bit. Don't worry if you don't see me around – I'm taking some space now," she wrote on her Instagram Stories May 4, per Us Weekly. "I lost a younger brother last night to an unexpected accident and I need some clarity and space for grieving."
According to The Roanoke Times, citing Virginia State Police, the 15-year-old had been riding his electric bicycle in the southbound lane on U.S. 220 in Franklin County on the night of May 4 when a car hit his bike. Police told the outlet Micah died at the scene, adding that the driver of the vehicle was not injured and that the accident remains under investigation.
E! News has reached out to both Olivia's rep and the police for comment but has yet to hear back.
In an online obituary, Micah was described as a "fun-loving" person with "intrepid" determination.
"Micah enjoyed spending his time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and trapping, and became a skilled outdoorsman," it read. "He enjoyed displaying his trophies and making video tutorials to teach others how to enjoy the life he loved."
He also enjoyed spending time with his family. "When he wasn't outdoors, Micah loved to hang out with his siblings and a few close friends," the tribute continued, "playing practical jokes, sharing his understated sense of humor and bringing laughs to those he loved."
Furthermore, Micah—who the obituary noted "brought tremendous light, laughter and love into every life he touched"—had a passion for helping others, including individuals affected by Brachial Plexus injuries like himself.
"Micah suffered his entire life from Cerebral Palsy caused by a Brachial Plexus injury during his birth which made it difficult for him to do the things he enjoyed so much," the obituary noted. "Despite the physical difficulties he experienced, Micah never complained or let himself be limited by his disability and continually found ways to pursue his outdoor activities despite this struggle."
In addition to his sister Olivia, the obituary stated he is survived by his parents Don and Karen; his others siblings Elijah, Joshua, Elise, Lydia, Sophia, Nathan, Carris and Kristen; his grandmothers and many nieces and nephews.
